About Our Irish Dance Instructors

Between Brian and Elaine they have over 25 years of teaching experience in London and during that time they have shared with their dancers the enjoyment and benefits of Irish Dancing, the friendships it forges, the discipline it imparts and, more importantly than the joy of winning; the ability to lose gracefully but with renewed determination to improve in the future through even greater application.

It is these values, relevant to so many areas of everyday life, that we seek to inspire in our dancers apart from the satisfaction it gives us to share in our love of Irish Dancing and it’s culture. It makes us incredibly proud seeing our dancers fulfil their true potential and achieving their dreams.

Brian McDermott A.D.C.R.G / T.C.R.G.

Brian was born in London to Irish and Spanish parents and from a very young age been involved in the Irish culture of both dance and music.

Brian enjoyed huge success during his competitive years, both at local and national level. His highlight being achieving 4th place at the World championships, along with consecutive Great Britain Championships and British National championship titles.

Nearing the end of his competitive career, Brian was called upon to audition for Michael Flatley’s show ‘Lord of the Dance’. Brian went on to perform in both ‘Lord of the Dance’ and ‘Feet of Flames’.

Elaine Headd-McDermott T.C.R.G.

Elaine was born in London to Irish parents and also from a very young age been involved in the Irish culture of both dance and music.

Elaine enjoyed success during her competitive years, both at local and national level. Placing top 10 at major competitions; Great Britain Championships, British National Championships and All Ireland Championships to name just a few.

While still competing Elaine graduated from St.Mary’s University with a degree in Mathematics and embarked on a secondary school teaching career, it was at this point Elaine was invited to audition for Michael Flatley’s show ‘Lord of the Dance’ , where she went on to perform and tour with 'Lord of the Dance'.
